race winner. After 55 races in the
premier category of Grand Prix
motorcycle racing, Pedro Acosta
(Red Bull KTM Factory Racing)
is officially a Sunday GP winner,
the Spaniard delivering on KTM's
home turf for the first time since
Miguel Oliveira at the 2022 Thai
Grand Prix.
Acosta was in rare form
around MotoGP's most pictur-
esque circuit, but it wasn't a
perfect weekend, as he crashed
out of the Sprint after building
a nearly three-second lead with
three laps remaining, handing a
surprised Jorge Martin (Aprilia
Racing Team) a gold medal and
widening his championship lead.
Sunday, however, was the day
Acosta finally broke through as
the number 37 led home Aprilia
teammates Martin and Marco
Bezzecchi, with KTM fans erupt-
ing on the Styrian mountainside.
In Moto2, Izan Guevara (bLU
cRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2
Boscoscuro) kept the title battle
rolling with a resounding win over
Filip Salac (American Racing
Team Kalex) and David Alonso
(CFMOTO Inde Team Kalex). Title
leader Manuel Gonzalez (Liqui
Moly Dynavolt Intact GP Kalex)
was a despondent fourth.
