The first thing I noticed as I
swung a leg over the bike was the
new levers. Their revised shape is
far more comfortable and finally
feels like a conventional lever.
Thank you, Kawasaki. It may
sound like a small detail, but it
makes a meaningful difference
on the track.
Kawasaki also changed the
mapping controls. The standard
"light off" setting is now the most
aggressive option rather than
light on. Holding the mode button
for three seconds switches to the
smoother "light on" map. I basi-
cally left the bike in the full-power
light-off setting to sample every-
thing the KX250F had to offer.
Right away, I noticed how
directly the throttle connected
to the rear wheel. The engine re-
sponded cleanly, and rear-wheel

from the midrange to the high end.
