Lambert Wins Rain-Shortened SpeedwayGP of Denmark G reat Britain's Robert Lambert was declared the winner after the SpeedwayGP of Denmark, on September 12, in Vojens, was abandoned Saturday after 20 heat races had already been completed. Despite pausing racing in the hope that the rain would subside and carrying out track work, the event was halted in the interests of rider safety. Twenty points for Lambert, plus three from the afternoon sprint race, mean he now leads the SpeedwayGP World Cham- pionship with 142 points, with Poland's reigning World Champi- on Bartosz Zmarzlik second with 141 and Aussie icon Brady Kurtz third with 139. All three riders are now guar- anteed to finish on the 2026 Speedway GP World Champion- ship podium and will battle it out for the sport's biggest prize at the DeWalt FIM SpeedwayGP of Po- land in Torun on September 26. Lambert was joined on the Vo- jens podium by Danish star Leon Madsen in second place, with Australia's Max Fricke ranked third. "If you had said I would be wearing the Golden Race Jacket before the [Denmark] meeting, I would have grabbed your hand off," Lambert said. "It just shows that speedway is so unpredict- able, and you never know what will happen. If you put your best leg forward, hopefully things will work out. Looking at it as a whole, the season has been super great for me, and I am going to be very thankful for whatever color medal I get. "It's all going down to the last round, and it's super interesting," he said. "It will be great for the spectators and for us racing for it too. It's all open for the gold, silver and bronze medals. I'm looking forward to it." CN FINAL (Top 4) 1. Robert Lambert 2. Leon Madsen 3. Max Fricke 4.
