2027 FIM MXGP Schedule I nfront Moto Racing, together with the FIM, an- nounced the provisional calendar for the 2027 FIM Motocross World Championship. Twenty Grands Prix across four continents will deter- mine the MXGP and MX2 World titles, with the season opening in Andalucia on February 28 and closing at the Monster Energy FIM Moto- cross of Nations in Assen on October 10. Almonte, Andalucia, will open proceedings at the MXGP of Andalucia, the Spanish venue that joined the calendar in 2026 and now serves as the season opener for MXGP and MX2, with WMX and EMX125 on the program. The series closes with the MXGP of Switzerland on Oc- tober 3 at a venue to be confirmed, one week before the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations in the Netherlands at Assen. CN WIND IN THE P24 The 2027 MXGP season kicks off with the MXGP of Andalucia, February 28, and concludes 19 rounds later with the MXGP of Switzerland on October 3. "We need to do some serious work...on our SX mud racing" L ars Lindstrom, team manager for the Honda HRC Progressive Team in Supercross and motocross, admitted the team needs to improve on its approach to racing in the mud after a disastrous first round of the SMX Playoffs in Columbus, Ohio. SMX points leader going into the race, Hunter Lawrence, struggled in the mud, crashing several times and tweaking his bike in the process, which led to a 15th-place finish and a drop from first in the championship to sixth. Jo Shimoda, the defending 250SMX Champion, returned from injury but didn't do much better, fin- ishing 13th overall, while Chance Hymas labored to seventh overall. "We need to do some serious work as a team on our SX mud racing," Lindstrom said. "We're nowhere near where we need to be, and that will be a focus going into the 2027 season. I have no doubt that we'll recover next weekend." Lawrence made no mention of a rumored wrist injury he might be dealing with. "We've struggled at first SMX rounds in years prior, but nothing like this. I'm shaking off the championship hangover and go- ing to get back to my winning ways next weekend." However, Shimoda admitted he's not fully fit. "It's been a while since the last time I raced, so it's good to be back at the races," he said. "My shoulder isn't quite 100 percent, but it's good enough to ride. I think I could've managed the conditions a lot better today; I just fell too many times."
