Jason Waters (Edge Racing Ducati) claimed third for his first career MotoAmerica podium, 0.037 of a second ahead of Ben Gloddy (Rodio Racing Ducati). Lewis finished fifth, with Michael Gilbert (Arch Motorcycle Racing) sixth. The points have Kornbau champion on 213 to DiBrino's 208 and Rodio's 167. Talent Cup Nathan Gouker (Quarterley Rac- ing) and Sam Drane (Yamaha bLU cRU Estenson Racing) split the Talent Cup victories at Circuit of The Americas, with Gouker extending his championship lead to 18 points over Kensei Matsu- daira (Team Roberts) with one round remaining. Gouker started race one from pole and led Jake Paige (Team Hammer) and Drane in an intense three-way fight. The trio traded positions repeatedly while Derek Sanchez (Real Steel Honda) fell more than two seconds adrift. Gouker held off late challenges from Paige and Drane at turn 12 to claim his eighth win of the season. Matsudaira's championship challenge suffered a major set- back before the race. His left rear- set came loose on the warmup lap, forcing him to start from the rear of the grid and complete the race stuck in a single gear. He salvaged 10th and six points. Drane bounced back in race two, taking his first premier-class win of the season after a fierce battle with Gouker. Gouker led early and appeared to have es- caped, but Drane steadily closed the gap before taking the lead with four laps remaining. Gouker reclaimed first with two laps left, but Drane made the decisive pass into turn 12 on the final lap, winning by 0.131 of a second.
