VOLUME 63 ISSUE 34 AUGUST 25, 2026 P79 BY CHRIS MARTIN PHOTOGRAPHY BY DEAN PHELPS E stenson Racing Yamaha has proven over the years it will go to any lengths necessary to fight its way to the top of the Pro - gressive American Flat Track world. Those efforts could be measured by the resources expended, the hours spent, the technical expertise applied, and so on. But how about absolute distance? For example, Tom Drane picked up his second consecutive Kicker AFT Singles title more than 9000 straight-line miles from his native Forbes, New South Wales, Australia. But sometimes, solutions can be found a bit closer to home. Reigning Grand National Champi - on and current Mission AFT Super- Twins points leader Dallas Daniels was just 100 miles removed from his hometown of Mattoon, Illinois, while chasing glory at the 79th running of the Caterpillar Peoria TT. And yet somehow, despite earning his first pro win here as a 16-year-old rookie in 2019 and being blessed with an ideal blend of flat track and road racing acumen that has nearly custom-designed his talents for Peo - ria, Daniels was still seeking his first premier-class victory at the venue. Briar Bauman (3) leads winner Dallas Daniels (1) and the rest of the SuperTwins class at the Peoria TT. Daniels now enjoys a 20-point lead going into the Springfield Mile doubleheader final round.
