Semmens Wins Big Bear
Grand Prix

he second annual Big Bear
Grand Prix took over the Bear
Valley Resort during the August
21-23 weekend. Three days of
racing action saw a challenging
six-mile off-road course wind its
way up, down, and through the
picturesque ski slopes of South
-
ern California. With a limited
number of entries, the event sold
out within minutes. The racers
and spectators had access to a
unique event as they packed the
popular summertime venue.
Saturday's Pro Race high
-
lighted the race weekend with
many of the usual off-road
heavyweights lining up for
their chance at the Pro-class
purse. Josh Mosiman landed
the holeshot in the Swap Moto
Live 450 Pro division and led the
first two laps before falling and
forfeiting the top spot. This gave
way to RPM KTM's Mason Sem
-
mens, who inherited the lead
and never looked back. He took
home the victory and a $2355
paycheck, besting Beta's Dare
DeMartile and Honda-mounted
Colton Aeck atop the podium.
Beta's desert racer Zane Roberts
claimed fourth overall with Mosi
-
man narrowly holding on for fifth
after leading early.
Husqvarna's Dustyn Davis
took the holeshot and later
clinched victory in the 250 Pro
division. GasGas-mounted Lane
Lorenzo kept Davis in sight but
never closed enough to make
a pass. SoCal native Harlem
Nelson rounded out the 250 Pro
podium.
