RIDE REVIEW I 2026 DUCATI PANIGALE V4 R
headline draws you in, but the
communication, confidence
and emotional appeal make the
motorcycle memorable.
The 2026 Ducati Panigale V4
R does not simply make its rider
faster. It makes every straight feel
shorter, every braking zone more
intense and every lap more vivid.
That may be the most meaningful
performance statistic of all.
Verdict
The big question is whether the
Panigale V4 R is the best 1000cc
superbike on the market. For me,
the answer is yes, especially with
the full racing exhaust fitted.
BMW's M 1000 RR runs it ex-
tremely close, as does Honda's
its,
but its genius is not locked
away at professional racing
speeds. The improved midrange,
tactile chassis, transparent
suspension and almost invisible
electronics allow a capable track
rider to feel what Ducati has
changed and benefit from it.
At $50,000 before the racing
exhaust, the V4 R remains an
extravagant proposition. But it
is also a genuine homologation
special: a motorcycle shaped by
racing rules, loaded with factory-
derived technology and built
with a level of engineering that
borders on obsessive.
Most important, it is not
merely a collection of outra
-
geous numbers. The 239 hp
knowing it is there provides the
confidence to commit.

Even after a full day, we had only
begun to explore the V4 R's depth.
There are more suspension com-
binations, electronic settings and
rider-aid strategies
to investigate.
Add preheated World Superbike
slicks, and the motorcycle will
brake later, corner faster and ac-
cept full power sooner.
The crucial discovery,
how-
ever, is that you do not need to
be a World
Superbike rider to
appreciate it.
