Please Support The Wing Family
A
GoFundMe account has
been created for renowned
motorsports photographer Kevin
Wing, regarded as one of the top
shooters in the motorcycle and
motorsports industry. You've
seen his work in Cycle News
and many other publications for
more than three decades, shoot-
ing photos for nearly all motor-
cycle manufacturers at one time
or
another, including hundreds
of motorcycle introductions and
special events.
On August 9, Wing was cover-
ing and photographing an orga-
nized tour in Ireland when he was
involved
in an accident. According
to GoFundMe, which was orga-
nized by Kevin's longtime friend
and
editor, Mark Tuttle, with help
from his friends and family, he
has been in the ICU in Ireland,
recently released from life sup-
port, undergoing treatment for a
traumatic
brain injury and multiple
leg fractures. Kevin's wife, son
and daughter are at his side.
As you can imagine, the Wing
family is going through a difficult
time and is going to face huge
medical expenses for treatment,
not to mention the cost of spe
-
cial medical air transportation to
get
him back home to California.
On Sunday, August 23, the
family gave an update on the
GoFundMe page: "First, we want
to thank everyone for the incred
-
ible outpouring of support, love,
and
prayers for Kevin and our
family. It has meant more to us
than we can possibly express.
Kevin is now out of the ICU and
making small improvements.
His doctors will assess him
tomorrow [Monday, August 24]
to determine the next steps and
medical transport home to the
U.S. Please keep Kevin in your
thoughts and prayers as we work
toward getting him home safely.
We are truly in awe of the love
and support we have received
from each of you, especially
while we are so far from home."

Cycle News extends its best
wishes to Wing's family and hopes
for Kevin's speedy recovery.
