The Quarterley Racing rider
started from pole after setting
a 1:35.646 in qualifying and
engaged Sam Drane (Yamaha
bLU cRU Estenson Racing) in a
proper hand-to-hand race-one
duel. The pair quickly broke
away from the field, swapping
the lead repeatedly.
Drane led onto the final lap
before allowing Gouker through
at turn one, hoping to use the
draft to make a final-corner
attack. The plan fell just short,
with Gouker holding off Drane
in a drag race to the finish by
0.034 of a second. Champion

ship leader Kensei Matsudaira
(Team
Roberts) finished third,
14 seconds behind the leaders.
Gouker was even faster in
race two, opening a gap of more
than five seconds over Drane.

Industries Racing) completed
the podium in third.

He did exactly that, passing
