seamlessly intervening and getting
your business back under control.
It took me a few trust corners to
let it fly, but the system lets you
spin out without fully losing your
marbles. This is something you're
going to want to use, abuse and
experiment with, for sure. The ride-
by-wire throttle system is very nice,
and it seems to enhance the fuel
-
ing efficiency of the bike, eliminat-
ing hesitations and any spotty fuel
metering I often experienced in the
first generations of T7s.

There isn't much of an engine story
here other than, damn, this thing
is good. It's just so easy to ride the
twin-cylinder Tenere platform. You
get a pile of torque and easy, fun,
lively acceleration. It also won't
blow your doors off or act the least
bit wild unless you really encour
-
age it, which for a lot of people is a
welcome surprise. For long days,
the biggest benefits are its lack of
excessive heat to the rider and its
buttery smoothness when ripping
along. Since we had an up/down
quickshifter accessory installed, the
transmission was compliant and
smooth. I've had the opposite experi-
ence on these bikes, too. So I sug-
gest getting the quickshifter acces-
sory; it is a good upgrade for long
days on variable terrain when you
don't want to fight or miss shifts.

Tenere 700 brakes have histori-
cally been disappointing. They look
like Brembo, but they have never
performed like Brembo. Instead
of a direct, predictable connection
