The Quarterley Racing rider started from pole after setting a 1:35.646 in qualifying and engaged Sam Drane (Yamaha bLU cRU Estenson Racing) in a proper hand-to-hand race-one duel. The pair quickly broke away from the field, swapping the lead repeatedly. Drane led onto the final lap before allowing Gouker through at turn one, hoping to use the draft to make a final-corner attack. The plan fell just short, with Gouker holding off Drane in a drag race to the finish by 0.034 of a second. Champion - ship leader Kensei Matsudaira (Team Roberts) finished third, 14 seconds behind the leaders. Gouker was even faster in race two, opening a gap of more than five seconds over Drane. ond. Kevin Olmedo (Karns/TNT Industries Racing) completed the podium in third. Kensei Matsudaira made his Twins Cup debut at VIR and fin - ished strongly aboard an experi- mental Kramer GP2-790R but was disqualified because the machine is not yet homologated for MotoAmerica competition. Talent Cup > Nathan Gouker delivered a domi- nant performance at his home round of the Talent Cup at Virginia International Raceway, sweeping both races to close right up in the championship battle. ahead of Bodie Paige (M4 Ecstar Suzuki) to secure the title. He did exactly that, passing Drane to take his seventh vic - tory of the season, with Drane second and Paige third. The result gave Vossberg an insur- mountable points advantage and extended his remarkable season-long podium streak. Vossberg completed the weekend sweep in race two, which was also shortened by a red flag. Paige crashed from sec - ond at turn three, while Chapin had already retired following a highside crash. Vossberg then controlled the five-lap restart but once again had Drane applying pressure to the finish. The Australian stayed within striking distance, but Vossberg held on to win by 0.122 of a sec - ROUND 7 / AUGUST 14-16, 2026 VIRGINIA INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY / ALTON, VIRGINIA ROAD RACE I MOTOAMERICA AMA/FIM NORTH AMERICAN ROAD RACING CHAMPIONSHIP P94 Hank Vossberg (31) made it a pair of wins and the Twins Cup Championship after another dominating performance at VIR.
