Daniels Tops Jackpine Gypsies Short Track

nyone who has attended
the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally
understands just how much
can be slotted into a compact
timeframe and just how quickly
fortunes can change as a result.
And as such, the Grand National
Championship lived its best Stur
-
gis life during the 86th edition of
the iconic rally.
In advance, there seemed
to be a very good chance the
Harley-Davidson faithful (who
rank as a vast majority of the
half-million or so enthusiasts
who descend on Sturgis, South
Dakota, on an annual basis)
would have plenty to celebrate
at the Jackpine Gypsies Motor
-
cycle Club this year.
The marque, which secured
a pair of victories at the venue
one year ago, came in boasting
nine of 11 wins this season. And
those wins were split up between
Latus Motors Harley-Davidson's
Kody Kopp and Super.com/RWR
H-D's Briar Bauman, the only
riders who had led the 2026 Mis
-
sion AFT SuperTwins title fight at
any point pre-Sturgis.
And had they kept the momen-
tum rolling in the form of a Sturgis
sweep, Harley-Davidson would
have notched up its 699th and
700th premier-class victories.
Instead, after reigning champ
Dallas Daniels seized that
momentum and the points lead
in Saturday's Caterpillar Jack
-
pine Gypsies Super TT, he then
doubled down with a second
blowout in Monday's rematch at
the Caterpillar Jackpine Gypsies
Short Track on Monday evening,
August 10.
Riding with more confidence
than he's shown all season long
aboard the Estenson Racing Ya

maha MT-07, Daniels nailed the
start and pulled clear from the
pack almost immediately. That
task was made eminently more
doable when Bauman faltered
off the line and was then punted
up the track and down the order
when Kopp came surging up the
inside from row two.
