seamlessly intervening and getting your business back under control. It took me a few trust corners to let it fly, but the system lets you spin out without fully losing your marbles. This is something you're going to want to use, abuse and experiment with, for sure. The ride- by-wire throttle system is very nice, and it seems to enhance the fuel - ing efficiency of the bike, eliminat- ing hesitations and any spotty fuel metering I often experienced in the first generations of T7s. T H E E N G I N E T H AT C O U L D There isn't much of an engine story here other than, damn, this thing is good. It's just so easy to ride the twin-cylinder Tenere platform. You get a pile of torque and easy, fun, lively acceleration. It also won't blow your doors off or act the least bit wild unless you really encour - age it, which for a lot of people is a welcome surprise. For long days, the biggest benefits are its lack of excessive heat to the rider and its buttery smoothness when ripping along. Since we had an up/down quickshifter accessory installed, the transmission was compliant and smooth. I've had the opposite experi- ence on these bikes, too. So I sug- gest getting the quickshifter acces- sory; it is a good upgrade for long days on variable terrain when you don't want to fight or miss shifts. H OW ' B O U T T H E M B R A K E S ?
