and Trey Canard put in some of the fastest lap times of the week in their first moto of the 125cc B Modified class, but Stroupe was pressured into a mistake and crashed. While leading the second moto, Stroupe went down once again handing the win to Canard, who completed 1-1-1 finishes. Stroupe made up for his mistakes in the 125cc B Stock class by winning the overall gold. Honda rider Sean Hackley had a rough beginning earlier in the week with his DNF in the first moto of the 250cc Open A class, but he worked tirelessly to make up for lost time, and pulled off a fourth- place finish in moto two. Moto three was one of the most spectacular brawls of the entire week, and Hackley wasted no time gaining a solid lead, just ahead of Suzuki's Justin Sipes, but a classic battle took place behind the front-runners. With the cham- pionship at stake, Honda's Broc Tickle and Team Green's Matt Boni went head- to-head throughout the moto. Tickle pre- vailed with a dramatic third-place finish and took the overall win with 1-1-3 finish- es, ahead of Boni's second-place 2-2-4 scores. Boni went on to take first place in the final moto of the 250cc Open A/Pro Sport class, which put him in position to win the title with 4-2-1 scores. "My start was good, and after that, I just tried to stay out ahead," Boni said. "This is as good as it gets! I got goose bumps on the last lap when the finish line was in sight." Emig held consistent 3-3-3 for a solid second, and England's Adam Chatfield scored a third place for Suzuki with a 5-11-2 overall tally. Team Green's top contender, Kyle Chisholm, dominated the first two motos, but his engine went south in the final race, which gave him a 1-1-DNF. Chisholm was also in the hunt for a 125cc A/Pro Sport title along with Josh Hill and Wil Hahn, but the rain delay knocked Chisholm out of the running when he was forced to accept a DNS in the final moto. The Floridian was scheduled to fly out to a National race in Canada on Saturday and left with a 3- 2-DNS final score. Wil Hahn won the first moto, but his Honda blew up in moto two, handing Hill the title. Tickle took second with 4-3-7 scores, and Phillip Nicoletti finished in third with a lucky 5-8-8 overall. Doug Dubach was the front-runner for Yamaha in the Senior Over-40 class, while Suzuki's Kurt McMillen and Team Green's Earl May swapped positions all week long. Dubach's perfect 1-1-1 victory topped Kurt McMillen's 3-2-2 finish and Earl May's score of 2-3-3. The battle between Suzuki's Blake Wharton and Honda pilot Terren O'Dell was intense the entire week. O'Dell began the week with the first-moto win aboard a Honda in the 85cc Modified (14- 15) class, but Wharton took control and turned the tables to win moto two. With each rider having a win under their belt going into the last moto, Wharton's finish deemed him the championship with 2-1-1 tallies, which outscored O'Dell's 1-2-2. Following his first-moto victory in the 105cc Supermini (12-15) class, Wharton's sizable lead came to an end in the second moto when he went down, losing ground, while O'Dell continued on to win. Wharton returned with a vengeance in the final moto, winning the race, but not the championship. O'Dell's 2-1-2 gained him the title and Wharton's 1-10-1 scored second.
