Canadian Superbike Final

Casas (Suzuki) closed out
dominant championship cam-
paigns in style Sunday at Cana-
dian Tire Motorsport Park, with
both
riders securing victories in
the final races of round five of
the 2026 Bridgestone Canadian
Superbike Championship.
Young capped a historic
Superbike season by winning
race two for his ninth victory in
10 races and a record-breaking
eighth of the season. The six-
time champion overcame a poor
start that left him fifth through
turn one, slicing through the field
before passing David MacKay
(Honda) on the Andretti straight
-
away. He then pulled clear to win
by
11 seconds.
Young finished the season
with 245 of a possible 250
points as Honda completed a
top-four sweep and secured its
first-ever Constructors' Champi
-
onship.

MacKay finished second for
his fifth podium of the season,
moving ahead of Andrew Van
Winkle (Honda) by a single point
to claim third in the final stand

ings. Van Winkle completed the
podium and secured Pro
Rookie
of the Year honors despite suf-
fering a heavy crash in race one.
His
team, assisted by members
of Young's crew, rebuilt his
Honda just 20 minutes before
the start.

Casas finished
fifth aboard his
smaller Suzuki GSX-R750.
Casas had already secured
the Supersport title but refused
to settle for a conservative fin

ish, battling Mavrick Cyr (Suzuki)
and
Sebastien Tremblay (Suzuki)
throughout a thrilling finale.
Casas made a last-lap pass stick
to beat Cyr by 0.237 of a second,
earning his seventh win in eight
races and third career champion

ship.
Cyr finished
second, with
Tremblay third and runner-up
in the standings after taking a
podium in every race. Casas and
Tremblay also helped Suzuki
secure its third consecutive Con

structors' Championship.
Brad
Macrae (Yamaha) fin-
ished fourth, while rookie Alexan-
der (Suzuki) secured third in the
Superspor
t championship. Matt
Simpson's (Suzuki) title hopes
ended when a visor issue forced
a late pit stop.
