Watch out because The Hacker is
going for a triple-double

raves Motorsports Yamaha's Jamie Hacking began his
Sunday at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course with a
win in the Repsol Lubricants Superstock final. He fin-
ished it a few hours later with a win in the Pro Honda
Oils Supersport final. It was the third race on the run
that he doubled in his classes and the success added to what
appears to be a pair of unstoppable championship drives.
Of the two, the Superstock race was the more clinical, but not
without it's problems. The first attempt to run the race ended when
Jordan Suzuki's Steve Rapp had a freak crash on the front straight to
start lap two. A complete restart was ordered.
Hacking got away in the middle of a six-rider freight train that
shed a few of the tail-enders around laps six. Then it was down to
three.
Yamaha's Eric Bostrom was controlling the pace with Yoshimura
Suzuki's Aaron Yates just behind, then Hacking. Hacking noticed that
Yates couldn't flow into the corners as fast as he could.
"I was running into the back of him, and it was messing me up
into the corner. I'd end up having to run wide," he said.
Hacking was noticeably stronger on the brakes into turn five at
the end of the back straightaway. But he said he needed help to
make the pass and he got it twice. Both Yates and Bostrom made a
mistake exiting the Keyhole exit for the run down the back straight.
He took Yates on the brakes into five on lap 13 of 16. Two laps later
he did the same to Bostrom.
