P82 RIDE REVIEW I 2027 NORTON ATLAS APEX touchscreen display operated via a joystick on the left handle- bar, while Bluetooth connectivity allows the machine to communi- cate with the Norton Rider app. The electronics package is extensive for a motorcycle in this category. A Bosch six-axis inertial measurement unit pro - vides the foundation for lean- sensitive rider aids, including cornering ABS, traction control, equipment levels. The Apex adds electronic combined braking, hill- hold functionality, tire-pressure monitoring, heated grips, corner - ing lights, an adjustable wind- screen, and a rear luggage frame and puddle lamp to illuminate the area around the motorcycle when parked in low light, which is rather cool, I must admit. Both the base model and the Apex feature an eight-inch TFT some, but Norton has a shorter (and taller) seat in its aftermar - ket catalog. The plus side is that the seat comfort is very good. The padding doesn't sink after an hour on board, making long trips a surprisingly pleasant experience. The standard Atlas and Apex share the same fundamental me - chanical package, with the prin- cipal differences coming in their Off-road manners are lovely if you're not doing anything too gnarly.
