"I'm happy and I'm thankful
to finish in this position," said

recently. I reset this week, did
things differently, and that's the
best that I have been by far. I had

him with four laps to go, and then
lost a bit of time in the rollers. We
were a little short [of the podium],
but this is where I want to be bat

tling, so I'm stoked on that."

Former Pro Motocross champion
Eli Tomac lined up for his first
round of the season after crash-
ing out of the season opener and
suffering a neck injury. His 9-12
finishes put him just outside the
top 10 overall. "It's good to get
my first full Pro Motocross race
weekend of the season under my
belt," Tomac said. "Pala didn't go
according to plan, so being able to
get two solid motos done today,
I'm happy. Obviously, there's
plenty of room for improvement,
but I will do some testing with the
team this week and be better at
Washougal."
PENALTY REPORT
Cole Davies' and Michael Mosi-
man's mechanics were fined for
accessing a restricted area with-
out permission. Mitchell Olden-
burg received the last gate pick in
the second 450 moto for entering
staging after closing.
Spring Creek Notes: The Spring
Creek track featured some
changes, most notably the large
downhill in the center of the track,
which now has a couple of turns
built into it to reduce speeds
and improve safety. The riders
seemed to approve the changes...
Hunter Lawrence's fifth career
450MX win puts him in the top
30 all-time, tied with Jimmy Ellis,
Tony DiStefano, and Greg Alber-
tyn... Jett Lawrence's career stats
put him on the 450MX podium 94
percent of the time... Beaumer's
win marks the first time KTM has
won back-to-back rounds since
rounds five and six of 2015 with
Marvin Musquin.
Briefly...
This last lap dive-bomb pass by
Julien Beaumer (13) on Michael
Mosiman (23) earned Beaumer his
first-ever moto win and later the
overall 250MX victory too.
