84th
running
of the
Pikes Peak
lnternational
Hillclimb, sponsored by Apex Spors,
Rocky Mountain Cycle Plaza, Vickery Yamaha,
Maods
Tires,
Spider Grips, Torco Oil, Barnett Tool, Motioo Pro,
Tucker
Rocky, Saddlemen, Grand Prix M/S, EMiLTD, and Fay Myers.
The sidecars were among the first up
the mountain, and
there was a thrilling batde b€tween David Hennessy
and Allar
Wenzel.
ln the end, Hennessy finished less than two seconds
ahead of Wenzel.
"We
had a
pretty good
tlrne
racing
the other team,"
Hennessy said.
"We
were very close; we
passed
each other
three
or
four
times.
lt
was a lot
of fun
with a cliff on the other
slde!
lt was
a blast.
We had
a
good
time."
The winning VMC sidecar time was 16:24-4O4.
The 250cc class saw another close battle. Two-time and
nondefending champion Nathan Conley was
