who rose
to the challenge for the Danes with
a win
in heat
22, the bonus coming with Ryan
Sullivan
at the back.
Then Todd Wiltshire
could only manage
third place in heat 23,
as
Pedersen
took the
win, and suddenly Denmark
was
five points
to the good and all bot home
and
dry Bjarne
Pedersen ensured their victor/ by following
Peter Karlsson home - includint a memo-
rable third-to-lirst blast in the early states of
heat 12, when he sliced between Sullivan and
Gjedde.
It was
all the more remarkable, as the
British
skipper had been involved in a spec-
tacular first-bend
pileup
in
heat lhree involv-
ing Wiltshire
and
Fredrik
Lindtren, the
Australian's machine
somersaultint over the
barrier and into the run-offarea
betlveen the

and the spectator area,

which had been hugely impres,

in
the second event when
the team beat the Danes
by three

The rwo riders hooked up on the main
straight after
Jonsson
had steamed throuth
on the inside, Pedersen

they managed to

appeared to allow the Dane
back around the
outside

apparcnt acceptance that

challenge
