After riding to avoid disas- ter at Assen, the number 93, Marc Marquez, later said this was a weekend to attack. Yet his superiority was such that this was all but sewn up at just one-third distance after his brother's crash. Marc's race-winning time, which was over 10 seconds slower than last year's effort, signified he had much more in the tank. Marc, meanwhile, has the Midas Touch at orchestrat - ing his opponents' downfall. At Assen, he put pressure on Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia Racing) on Friday, only for the Italian to waver come Sunday. The same happened here as Di Giannantonio crashed out of his first feature race of the season two days on from Marc labeling him the favorite. In their place, Ai Ogura (Trackhouse Aprilia) stepped up to score a third straight podium at his supposed bogey track. Of the four other riders in the championship fight, the Japa - nese rider currently looks most likely to push Marc hardest in the season's second half. MotoGP Sprint After Aprilia swept the opposi- tion aside at Assen, Saturday suggested Ducati would return the favor in Germany. Marc was under the lap record for pole, ahead of Alex and Di Giannanto- nio. The grid was rider-light after Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia Rac- ing) highsided out of qualifying, breaking his left collarbone. The podium fight over the resulting 15 laps was always tight but oddly lacked any jeopardy. The reason was clear: ROUND 11 / JULY 11-12, 2026 SACHSENRING CIRCUIT / SACHSENRING, GERMANY MOTOGP I FIM MOTOGP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP P92 49 FABIO DI GIANNAN- TONIO 3RD/DNF MOTOGP "I'm okay, just a bit bruised," Fabio Di Giannantonio said after his untimely crash on Sunday. "It's a pity, because the Sunday had started well, and I had a good feeling with the bike. But I crashed this morning in warmup and then again in the race, which wasn't ideal, although these things can hap- pen. I think we had great potential to fight for the podium, but unfortunately, we didn't get the chance to show it. We have to be happy with this first half of the season. We're only 24 points behind the championship leader in a very tight World standing, so we have to keep believing and continue work- ing the way we have been so far." MYOWNRACE Marquez dominated the racing at the German Grand Prix, running away with Saturday's Sprint victory and Sunday GP victory.
