WorldSSP
Even a six-position penalty for rid
-
ing slowly in Superpole qualifying
did not hamper Tom Booth-Amos
(Triumph Factory Racing) in his
push to win at home on Saturday.
He finally just eased away from
the entire field from his ninth-
place grid position to win in the
most crowd-pleasing way pos
-
sible on his Triumph triple.
He was 2.4 seconds ahead
of championship leader Albert
Arenas (AS Racing Yamaha) and
2.861 seconds ahead of Jeremy
Alcoba (Kawasaki WorldSSP
Team).
In race two, again over 19
laps, Booth-Amos recreated
his Midland magic trick by 1.5
seconds this time, with one-time
close championship challenger
Jaume Masia (Orelac Racing
Verdnatura) third.
Overall, he is now 82 points
behind runaway leader, Arenas,
who has 291 points to ZXMoto
rider Valetin Debise's 209. Masia
has 195.
