End Of The Record Run at
Donington WorldSBK
I
t was obvious that a talent like
Iker Lecuona (Aruba. it Racing
- Ducati) was overdue for a win,
as he had not won a race of any
kind since he rode in Supermoto,
like 10 years ago or something.
Finally beating the all-time great
consecutive-victory harvester
Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.It Rac
-
ing - Ducati), who had won all
21 races before Donington in
2026 (and four before that at the
end of 2025), will be particularly
memorable for more than one
reason. It temporarily stopped
Bulega from finally taking a race
win at Donington, the only cur

rent WorldSBK circuit he had not
won at.
By the end of the July 11-12
weekend, Ducati had already
wrapped up the team's champi-
onship with Aruba.it Racing and
the Manufacturers' Champion-
ship, thanks in part to the amaz-
ing 2026 V4-R.
Lecuona's win was popular
and expected at some point.
Race one was a general
Ducati festival. In the first race at
Donington, there they were, six
Ducatis ranged out like masters
of the current WorldSBK uni

verse, hell-bent on global domi-
nation.
Yari Montella (Barni Spark
Racing Team) was the Panigale
pilot in third place in race one,
with local riders Sam Lowes
(ELF Marc VDS Racing Team
Ducati), ex-BSB Champion
Tommy Bridewell (Superbike
Advocates Ducati), and Italian
rider Lorenzo Baldassarri (Team
GoEleven Ducati) filling the
