Fantic Introduces Updated XE300
F
antic says its heavily updated
XE300 "is one of the first
major enduro models introduced
under Fantic's new Evolution
Series philosophy—an approach
focused on meaningful technical
updates when they are proven,
mature and ready to deliver a
real performance advantage."
The Fantic's 300cc Minarelli
two-stroke engine (built by the
Italian engine manufacturer
Motori Minarelli, formerly owned
by Yamaha) features numer
-
ous updates, including a new
cylinder and cylinder head, reed
valve, exhaust valve, crankshaft
and exhaust pipe. Its electrical
system has also been updated.
"The result," Fantic says, "is an
XE300 with stronger low- to
midrange torque, smoother
power delivery, improved control
and the performance character
riders need for technical enduro,
racing and trail conditions."
Bodywork is all-new, featuring
narrower radiator shrouds, inte
-
grated oil and fuel tanks, and a
front number-plate housing that
includes a more powerful LED
headlight.
It still uses a semi-double-cra-
dle aluminum frame, KYB sus-
pension and a 48mm SSS fork.
The updated Fantic XE300 is
expected to begin arriving at au-
thorized U.S. dealers in late July
with a $12,699 MSRP.
