Ducati Sets Sales Record
The June sales result of new Ducati motorcycles sold in North
America set a new record, with over 1100 units being retail
registered, according to Ducati. The one-month result adds
to an already strong half-year result for Ducati North
America, with vehicle unit sales up 16 percent since the first
of the year and motorcycle-related parts (MRP) up 25 per-
cent, Ducati says.
New-unit sales growth was led by Canada, which is up 56
percent at year-to-date, followed by California and New
York. In the MRP category, the accessories group is up by 47
percent, year-to-date, according to Ducati.
"Everyone at Ducati North America and many of our
dealers have been working their tails off for the past few
years and we are finally reaching critical mass with our busi-
ness," said Michael Lock, CEO of Ducati North America.
"This momentum allows us to offer a range of motorcycles,
accessories and apparel that is growing each season and gen-
erates profit for our dealers. It has been a year of steady and
healthy growth, and we are not planning on slowing down
anytime soon."
K
TM recently released photos of its new-
generation 2007 motocrossers. Both the
four-strokes and two-strokes received major
updates, and there's even a new model - the
four-stroke 505 SX-F. All of the four-strokes,
except for the 250 SX-F, will feature "E-
Start," KTM's term for electric starting. The
two-stroke 250 SX is claimed to weigh in at
around a featherlight 208 pounds.
