Yaakov again led the field away, but Binder produced one of the rides of the season, slic- ing through the pack to join the leaders before the opening lap was complete. Herrin seized the lead on lap two and, despite a brief scare after running wide at turn 13, responded by dra - matically increasing his pace. The Ducati rider capped off a commanding performance with a stunning 1:57.827 on the final lap, defeating Binder by 2.5 seconds. Yaakov completed the podium, ahead of BPR Racing Yamaha's Brenden Ketelsen and qualifying left his Celtic/Economy Lube + Tire/Warhorse Ducati badly damaged, forcing him to start from the back of the grid. The original start lasted less than a lap before a heavy collision involving MP13 Racing's Avery Dreher and Altus Motorsports rider Torin Collins brought out the red flag. Both riders were taken to the hospital, with Dreher suffering a broken leg and Collins a broken neck; the Canadian also stated via his Instagram account he's currently lost feeling in his right arm. A heavy downpour followed the incident, setting the stage Supersport Josh Herrin completed a per- fect Supersport weekend at Ridge Motorsports Park, the Rahal Ducati Moto with Des- nuda Organic Tequila rider claiming both race victories to significantly strengthen his title challenge. Saturday's opening race began in wet and chaotic conditions after Rahal Ducati Moto with Droplight rider Kayla Yaakov secured her third pole position of the season in qualifying. Championship leader Darryn Binder, meanwhile, faced an uphill battle after a heavy crash in Like the Daytona 200, it was all looking so good for PJ Jacobsen (15) as he disappeared way out in front in race one until he crashed out while holding a comfortable lead.
