race one forced him to claw
his way through the field to an
eventual second while brother

lead up front. Moto two saw the
Honda duo start 1-2, with Hunter
slowly marching away from Jett
as the race wore on. This is only
the fifth time Jett hasn't won
the overall, but he's finished on
the overall podium in all four
rounds this season, and his pair
of seconds at High Points keeps
him in the championship stand

ings, although he's now just two
points
up from Hunter.
"Hunter was riding well," Jett
said. "I tried to track on and fol

low his lines and then try other
lines, but I
just couldn't keep up.
Good on him. We'll go back to
work on the bike and come back
strong at the next one."
Haiden Deegan bounced back
after a penalty last weekend
to finish third overall. The Star
Racing Yamaha rider posted the
fastest qualifying time in Q1 to
start the day but found himself
racing from the back during
the two gate drops. A fourth in
moto one put him on the out
-
side looking in for the second
moto,
but Deegan turned up the
pace at the end of moto two
and closed in on Jett with only a
few laps remaining. A 4-3 finish
landed Deegan on the box for
his second overall podium of the
season.
"I feel good," Deegan said.
"I'm getting closer. It feels like
a win on my part, making these
steps each weekend. I'm right
there. I'm going to keep putting

in the work, keep chipping away.

Jett Lawrence was issued one
