Tedesco To Return For Millville
After undergoing surgery four weeks ago to repair a torn labrum in his shoulder,
Team Makita Suzuki's Ivan Tedesco is back on a bike and is planning on return-
ing to racing action on August 13 at the Millville, Minnesota, round of the AMA
Nationals.
Tedesco, who injured the shoulder at the Las Vegas Supercross in May, spent
some of his downtime with family in Texas, though he's now in the middle of
rehabbing the injured shoulder.
"I want to thank Makita Suzuki, Thor, Parts Unlimited, Monster, DVS and the
rest of my sponsors for sticking by me while I've been out," Tedesco said in a
press release. "They've been awesome. And I definitely want to thank my fans
too. I'll be back soon! In fact, I'm going to try to make it up to Red Bud and the
MotoGP in California, so look for me in the crowds."
N
icky Hayden was reluctant to rise to the bait, after he'd been criticized by
Colin Edwards about their adventure in the Dutch Grand Prix at Assen.
Hayden had gained the lead one lap from the end, but lost an advantage of
more than a second on the last lap, only defeating Edwards when the Yamaha
rider crashed on the final corner.
Edwards complained that "he [Hayden] can't lead a race - he can only
follow."
Hayden just smiled. "He obviously didn't see Laguna last year," he said. "In
races this year, I've always been working my way up. But I've got a lot more
stuff going on than to go back and forth with him."
Valentino Rossi was invited to agree with Edwards, but was not willing to
do so.
"Things like that can happen at Assen," Rossi said. "Anyway, with the points
position, I don't think either Colin or I should be criticizing Nicky."
