UPCOMING ROUNDS Round 5 - July 8, Mineral Wells, West Virginia Round 6 - July 15, Saluda, Virginia C Y C L E N E W S • JULY 12, 2006 33 long. I'm just trying to get back into this thing. The track got a little slick, but my starts were really bad. I got a good start on the first start, but I spun a little bit. Then the second time I spun even worse. Bad starts... but that's been the story of my whole career. I'm happy, we came here and I wanted to finish 25 laps no matter what. We've been fast everywhere we've went this year. We just have to work the bugs out. It's going to take a little bit." 72 Tim Eades 9th Place "I think I screwed myself on the start," Tim Eades said. "Reggie [Amos] was telling me I was 15th after the first lap. To go from 15th and ending up ninth is not too bad. I was kind of hoping for a little bit more though. You want to do good at your good tracks and this should be one of my real good tracks. We put it in the truck here last year, so being in the main this year is pretty cool. I've had a bit of a cold all week and I just really ran out of steam with six or seven laps to go. My nose was running and I was coughing stuff up. I just didn't have anything left for them. I was able to get [Jethro] Hal- bert, who messed up a little bit. I got in the top 10 - we'll take the top 10 and move on. I've been training real hard and the bikes are as good as any body else's out there. This guy [his father, Mike] back here just works his tail off. I don't know anybody in the pits that works any harder. When you've got bikes like this, and a guy working that hard, you've got to get it on." 69 Jethro Halbert 10th Place "I felt really fast in the qualifying," under- stated Jethro after being fast qualifier. "I made it out of my heat race, this is the first time I've made it straight from the heat. I was up there pretty far and I thought I was going to get some more guys, then I kind of slipped off the groove and got sideways. I'll take a top 10. My brother and I were having fun for a while." Schnabel, Coolbeth and Carr celebrate their 2-1-3 finishes. Brothers Jethro (69) and Sam Halbert (43) battled in the National with both riders finishing in the top 10.
