Although changes are limited, the two-strokes
were not totally forgotten in Suzuki's R&D. The
RM250 receives a new fork and new shock set-
tings, as well as a redesigned exhaust port for
increased roll-on and mid- to high-range power.
The RM125 is still in Suzuki's lineup but remains
unchanged, featuring only new graphics for 2007.

All new for 2007, Suzuki has come out with an over-
hauled RM-Z250, dumping the "Kawa-zuki" 250F
hybrid, which shared blueprints with the Kawasaki
KX250F in 2005. The new, Suzuki-designed motor
uses titanium valves, double overhead cams and a
semi-dry-sump lubrication system, allowing the
crankshaft to be placed lower. Dual ignition mapping
is designed to decrease engine braking, and an auto-
matic decompression system eases kickstarting. The
RM-Z250 also features an all-new aluminum frame
and swingarm, Showa suspension, Renthal bars and
titanium exhaust.

Its larger sibling, the RM-Z450, also sports a new frame and
swingarm, promising to deliver improved cornering abilities
and more stability through chop. Accompanying the new
frame are redesigned upper and lower triple clamps and new
suspension settings. The 450's powerhouse features a
redesigned combustion chamber, new carb settings and igni-
tion mapping, aimed at creating more low- to mid-range
power. The 2007 RM line will also offer a limited edition RM-
Z450Z (pictured) featuring Makita Suzuki graphics, yellow
wheels and a black seat.
