Ducati says the engine has been
revised from the motocross version
with an emphasis on stronger torque
delivery and smoother power char-
acteristics better suited to technical
off-road
conditions. The EDS (Enduro
Street Legal) street-legal bike has a
claimed 42 hp at 6750 rpm and can
be fitted with the Ducati Performance
Racing Kit at an authorized dealer,
boosting it to a claimed 54 hp. Torque
is a claimed 33 lb-ft at 5750 rpm.
The aluminum perimeter frame is
derived from the Desmo450 MX but
receives revised engine mounting
points and chassis tuning intended to
improve compliance and control in en
-
duro terrain. Ducati claims the frame
weighs
just under 20 pounds and con-
sists of just 11 components. Claimed
weight is
264.3 pounds without fuel.
Suspension duties are handled by
a fully adjustable 49mm Showa fork
offering 12.2 inches of travel, matched
to a fully adjustable Showa rear shock
delivering 11.8 inches of travel.
It is equipped with a 21-inch front
and an 18-inch rear tire, and braking
comes courtesy of Brembo calipers
working with a 260mm front and
240mm rear Galfer discs. A larger
2.25-gallon gas tank, enduro-specific
bodywork, handguards, skid plate, en
-
gine protection and an LED headlight
distinguish the EDS
from its moto-
cross sibling.
The optional
Racing Kit comes
with Ducati Traction Control (DTC),
launch control and engine-brake
control, which, like DTC, can be
configured with different intervention
levels and associated with two riding
modes. The gearbox is equipped
with an up-only quickshifter.
The Ducati Desmo450 EDS will ar
-
rive at select North American dealer-
ships from August 2026 for a price
star
ting at $12,995.
