P70 FIRST LOOK I 2027 YAMAHA MX & CROSS-COUNTRY Y amaha introduced its 2027 YZ motocross and cross- country motorcycle lineup, with the big news being the YZ250F, which received a major overhaul. "The 2027 YZ250F receives a completely redesigned engine and extensive chassis changes to deliver the highest level of performance for winning races," said Derek Brooks, Yamaha Motorsports Motorcycle Product Line Manager. "The balance of increased power and improved handling characteristics has pushed the bike to a new level of performance, from weekend track riding to competitive rac - ing at the highest level." A new engine is said to deliver smoother power and torque across the rpm range. The rev limit has been raised by 700 rpm compared to the 2026 model. This was made possible by integrating a rocker arm with a finger follower system from Yamaha's SuperSport YZF-R1, along with intake improvements that boost airflow and allow higher revs. Despite the increase in power, modifications to the air-cleaner box and exhaust sys - tems ensure the bike complies with the new noise regula- tions set by the FIM and AMA. It also has a new hy - draulic clutch that replaces the coil springs of the previous model with The 2027 Yamaha YZ250F gets a significant overall update, including a new engine and updated chassis.
