consecutive Grand Prix vic- tory. The Red Bull KTM rider won the qualifying race and captured both holeshots, then led every lap in both of Sunday's motos. Other riders tried to make a run at Sacha, but he was too far ahead in each race, winning by 23 seconds in moto one and six seconds in race two. His perfect weekend increased his championship advantage to 37 points and further es- tablished him as the rider to beat as the series heads into the second half of the sea- son. The Coenen brothers made history by sweeping the weekend and will carry that momentum as they head to the USA for their debut ride in the Pro Motocross Championship. Camden McLellan finished sec- ond overall for the Triumph Rac- ing Factory Team despite once again fighting through the pack after less-than-ideal starts. The South African rider was among the fastest on track all week- end, but a big crash in race one limited him to third at the line. He bounced back in race two, making a dramatic last-lap pass on local favorite Karlis Reisulis to secure second and second overall. This result moved McLel- lan into fourth in the champion- ship standings and continued his strong midseason form. Mathis Valin rounded out the podium for the Kawasaki Racing Team and extended his podium streak to four consecutive rounds. The Frenchman capitalized on McLellan's crash in race one, overtook for second, and added a solid fifth-place result in race two. After winning last weekend, this third-place result may not appear to be outstanding, but Valin's consistency keeps him firmly in the championship conversation. The biggest champion- ship story behind Coenens' victory was the difficult weekend for defend- ing champion Simon Laengenfelder. The German struggled throughout both motos, crashed hard in race two, and then retired. This allowed Coenen to signifi- cantly increase his championship lead, while Guillem Farres moved to within three points of Laengen- felder for second in the stand- ings. Latvian rider Karlis Reisulis narrowly missed the podium in front of his home crowd after run- ning second for much of race two before being passed by McLellan on the final lap. CN MXGP (Top 5) 1.
