Harrison Crowned 2026 Senior TT Champion D ean Harrison has been awarded the 2026 Senior TT win after the race was stopped due to an accident after only one lap was completed. Organizers had originally postponed the race to Saturday, June 6, after Finn- ish rider Erno Kostamo crashed at the 11th Milestone and had to be airlifted to the hospital with severe leg injuries. However, the poor weather that had been a constant factor in the 2026 TT race schedule prevented the race from being restarted, and thus Harrison was awarded the second Senior TT of his career. It was his seventh TT triumph. Harrison opened his account by winning the Superbike TT on the factory Honda CBR1000RR-R SP, ahead of Peter Hickman (BMW) and Michael Dunlop (Honda). Dunlop turned the tables in the opening Supersport TT, claiming his 34th win at the Isle of Man, ahead of Harrison (Honda) and Hickman (Triumph). It got even better for the North- ern Irishman when he piloted his Paton to victory in what turned out to be the only Sportbike TT, finish- ing ahead of Mike Browne (Paton) and Paul Jordan (Aprilia). He fol- lowed that up with his third win of his 2026 campaign in the second Supersport TT, once again ahead of Harrison and Hickman. In all, the first Sportbike TT and no Superstock TTs were able to be held due to ongoing weath- er delays. The 2026 Isle of Man TT was a fractured affair, marred by persistent weather problems and several high-speed crashes, including the death of 33-year- old Briton Daniel Ingham, who crashed at Doran's Bend during practice on May 27. Alongside Kostamo, other riders facing a lengthy recovery include Isle of Man resident Jamie Cringle, who crashed at Union Mills during the opening Supersport TT, sustaining an open compound fracture of his tibia and fibula, a broken sternum and bruising to his heart. Michael Evans crashed during the Sportbike TT and suffered no major injuries, but this was not the case for veteran TT racer Ma- ria Costello, who crashed during practice for the Sidecar TT and sustained a raft of injuries, most notably paralysis from the T5/ T6 vertebrae down. Doctors are hoping that, with time, Maria will regain use of her legs. Following Costello's injuries and a major high-speed crash involving current champions Ryan and Callum Crowe at the daunting Crosby section, the two Sidecar TTs were canceled from the 2026 race program. CN WIND IN THE P46 With the race canceled after one lap due to an accident, postponed one day and finally canceled due to wet weather, Dean Harrison was awarded the 2026 Senior TT win.
