Hunter, Triumph Takes 10-Hours of Glen Helen W arm temps and sunny skies set the stage for a tradition- al endurance race at Glen Helen Raceway, with plenty of dust, silt and fun greeting 74 teams at the annual 3Bros 10-Hours of Glen Helen, June 6-7. Returning two- thirds of last year's winning trio, DirtBikeTest.com brought Trevor Hunter and Sean Lipanovich, along with Gary Sutherlin, to the overall victory, finishing 40 laps ahead of the 73 other teams. At the 8 a.m. flag drop, the Open Pro/Expert riders rushed into Talladega, the first turn, with Open Intermediate rider Russell Conner at the front on his KTM. Through the first few corners, riders jockeyed for position, but Conner led the field into the dust. Overcoming a poor start, the Dirt Bike Test/1-800-Dent-Doc team of Hunter, Lipanovich and Sutherlin recovered from their number 24 Triumph TF450-E not firing right away and passed the entire first line of riders halfway through the opening lap. Once in the lead, Sutherlin chased first tracks with no leader in sight, only to realize they were from the morning's sweep lap. By lap two, the former NHHA and WORCS champ settled into a comfortable pace, holding a two-minute lead before the first hour was over. Behind Sutherlin, the num- ber 524 Skaggs Racing Honda CRF450X of Hayden Hintz, Gun- ner Smith, Max Hintz and Dylan Delgado ran second overall and first in the Open Intermediate class through the opening three laps. As the race settled in, the ACT/Malcolm Smith Motorsports KTM duo of Brandon Krause and Austin Keys moved into second overall and second in the Open AA class. Another front-runner throughout the race, Nick Stover and the number 281 Reezen Racing GasGas team were late to the start and had to claw their way back through the field in the opening hour. Stover, along with teammates Seth Nemec, Cal Crutcher and Seth Christensen, worked their way up into third overall in the first hour, where WIND IN THE P36 The Trevor Hunter, Sean Lipanovich and Gary Sutherlin (pictured) team took top honors at the 3Bros 10 Hours of Glen Helen.
