Cleveland Breaks Out At Honda Hill Sprint Enduro F MF KTM Factory Racing's Grant Davis entered the Hon- da Hills MX Sprint Enduro with plenty of momentum and little pressure, having built a 74-point lead in the series standings over the previous five rounds. Howev- er, the weekend proved anything but predictable. Rising Husqvar- na talent Toby Cleveland, already making a name for himself this season, upended expectations with a breakout performance. Storming to the overall win, Cleveland finished 19 seconds ahead of KTM Orange Brigade's Cooper Jones after two days of racing for the "W." Surprisingly, Cleveland dominated, winning four of the six tests on Sunday after coming from behind to win Saturday's race. "I'm so stoked, I can't even believe I ended up winning," said Cleveland. "Hopefully I can do that again in the last round. The weekend went smoothly except for the last two tests. My bike started losing power going into the fifth test, so I just put it in fourth and cruised to the finish. Before the last test, we changed the oil and just prayed it would make it, and it did, but I was struggling. Cooper put in a fast time in the last two tests and almost got me for the day, but yeah, it was a great weekend." Saturday Davis opened Saturday in commanding fashion, setting the benchmark pace in three of the first four tests. But the clos - ing stages proved pivotal as the Pennsylvania rider faltered in the final test. Although both Davis and Cleveland claimed three test wins apiece, it was Cleveland who seized control when it mat - tered most, charging to victory over Jones. Meanwhile, Davis slipped to third, surrendering valuable ground after a costly late-day setback. At the end of the day, Cleveland outpaced Jones by 15.5 seconds and held off Davis by 17 seconds, capital- izing on the series leader's crash in the final test.
