ROUND 6 / MAY 29-31, 2026 MUGELLO CIRCUIT / SCARPERIA E SAN PIERO, ITALY ROAD RACE I FIM MOTOGP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP P98 Agius (IntactGP Kalex) was recovering from a tough first lap where he was 10th. Plus, Celestino Vietti's (SpeedRS Boscoscuro) quali- fying crash left him 16th on the grid. But the Italian was inspired as he climbed into the top 10 by lap seven before con - tinuing toward the front. Two laps from the flag, and both he and Agius were in the midst of the podium fight. Ortola's bike cruelly gave up the ghost on the penultimate lap, leaving Holgado to defend from the onrushing Vietti and Agius. But there was no compe - tition, with Vietti on another level with a last-lap move sealing second. Agius thought he had third thanks to a neat move un - Moto2 Manuel Gonzalez (IntactGP Kalex) spelled his intentions out as early as Saturday when he thrashed the lap record to take pole by a quarter of a second. "The best lap of my life," he said soon after. The championship leader rarely looked in danger the fol - lowing day, even if Filip Salac (ART Kalex) and Ivan Ortola (MSI Kalex) hung on in the early laps. Soon Salac faded, and Ortola dropped away on lap 11, leaving the Spaniard clear for back-to-back victories. The action was further back. Soon Ortola was contending with Salac and Dani Holgado (Aspar Kalex), while Senna the following lap. Ogura and Acosta banged bars at turn one on lap 20, with the Aprilia coming out ahead. And by this stage, Bagnaia's rear tire was shot. Starting the final lap, he had nine-tenths of a second in hand over the Japa - nese rider. But that was gone by Arrabbiata. Ogura's last-corner lunge looked to have sealed it. But the Italian just had enough to fire under him on the run to the line. "Losing could've been a disaster, so I gave everything," said Bagnaia. Di Giannantonio was fifth with Marquez sixth. Bezzecchi (173 points) extends his lead over Martin (156) by just two points over the weekend, with Di Giannantonio (134) now 39 in arrears. Luca Marini (10) gets nerfed out of the way by Raul Fernandez (25), a move the Italian was less than impressed with.
