Sunday's race two featured
another closely contested battle
among the championship con

tenders. With Beaubier sidelined,
Jacobsen started
from pole and
led the early laps, though Beach
briefly took the lead before
Jacobsen reclaimed it. Kelly,
Fong, Petersen and Scholtz all
remained in close contention
as the lead group quickly pulled
away from the rest of the field.
The championship picture
changed dramatically on lap
Saturday's race was turned
upside down when six-time
champion and Road America
polesitter Cameron Beaubier
(Warhorse HSBK Ducati Flo

4Law) crashed while leading
comfortably
at the chicane
before Canada Corner. The
incident brought out a red flag,
and Beaubier was unable to
take the restart or participate
in race two after dislocating his
right shoulder, which may be a
fatal blow to a possible seventh
championship.
Before the stoppage, Cam

eron Petersen (Wrench Motorcy-
cles Ducati) had produced one
of
the rides of the race, charging
from 15th on the grid to second
place. After the restart, Petersen
quickly moved to the front and
became locked in a battle with
Sean Dylan Kelly (OrangeCat
Racing) and Bobby Fong (At

tack Performance Progressive
Yamaha
Racing).
The trio remained separated
by a couple of tenths of a sec-
ond throughout the shortened
race.
