Bulega Sweeps Most WorldSBK
A
ruba.it Racing Ducati's
Nicolo Bulega continued
his dominance in the 2026 FIM
WorldSBK Championship, win-
ning all three races at the Most
round in the Czech Republic,
May 15-17, and topping Friday's
Superpole qualifying.
The Ducati V4-R rider, Bulega,
kicked off Saturday by winning
the opening 21-lap WorldSBK
race, ahead of teammate Iker
Lecuona and Yari Montella
(Barni Spoark Racing Team –
Ducati). He followed that up with
another victory over Lecuona
and Montella in the 10-lap Super
-
pole race on Sunday morning.
He capped the weekend with his
third triumph, again over Lecu-
ona and Montella, in the second
22-lap WorldSBK race later that
afternoon. During the Superpole
race, Bulega set a new all-time
track best with a one-minute,
29.616-second lap.
The talk of the weekend,
however, especially if you're an
American, was the performance
by Kawasaki's Garrett Gerloff.
He turned heads when the Texan
topped the charts in practice
two and went on to perform
well throughout the weekend's
racing. Aboard a supposedly ob
-
solete Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR,
Gerloff rode confidently to fourth
place in the opening race. Even
with some top riders out due
to injury, this was still remark-
able, given that the Kawasaki is
the oldest basic design in the
paddock, with the least extreme
bore-and-stroke figures of all
(except for the bimota KB998,
which it shares an engine and
electronics platform with). The
Kawasaki is the bike Jonathan
Rea left behind three years ago,
so, obviously, there has been a
rebirth or two after some very
minor tweaks to the bike this
year.
In Sunday's Superpole race,
Gerloff finished an impressive
sixth, and he proved his results
weren't a fluke by finishing fifth
