Redding, Ryde Dominate Donington S cott Redding and Kyle Ryde were the big winners at round two of the ZYN British Superbike Championship at Donington Park, May 16-17. Redding (Hager PBM Racing Team) celebrated his first victory of the season on Saturday, while Ryde (Nitrous Coin Nitrous Competitions Racing) swept races two and three on Sunday. Rain cut race one short, with Redding taking the win just ahead of early leader Max Cook (AJN Steelstock bimota) and Ryde. Leon Haslam (Moto Rapido Racing) was fourth and Christian Iddon (Sencat Racing Yamaha) fifth. Redding, Ryde and Cook were back at it again on Sunday for races two and three. In race one, was able to pull clear of Redding to take the win by 1.8 seconds, with Cook taking third another two sec - onds back Cook was third, followed by Bradley Ray (McAMS Yamaha) and Haslam. Ryde led the whole way in the final race three, that saw the safety car deployed for a downed rider. When racing resumed, Ryde stayed calm under pressure, taking the checkers 1.9 seconds ahead of Redding. Cook was again third, followed by Ray and Haslam. "It was very difficult in the last race with Scott right up my chuff for 16, 17 laps," Ryde said after his Sunday sweep. "I was hoping that Scott or Max were burning more tires than I was in the first sector while trying to catch me back up, because I know they were better than I was there. Once I saw the board with three or four laps to go, I just got my head down and tried to do my fastest laps, which I did. And that won me the race." Ryde is holding firm at the top of the championship leaderboard, with 104 points to Redding's 85. Haslam is third on 82, followed by Ray on 75 and Cook on 73. CN WIND IN THE P66 Young Perfect in Canadian Superbike Opener T he Bridgestone Canadian Superbike Championship kicked off the 2026 season with defending champion Ben Young winning both Saturday and Sunday's Superbike races at Shannonville Motorsport Park on May 16-17. On Saturday, Honda-mounted Young came from behind to lead Kawasaki rider Jordan Szoke, who made a run on Young late in the race, but Young crossed the finish line by less than a second. David MacKay (Honda) fin - ished third and Tomas Casas (Suzuki) fourth. Andrew Van Winkle (Honda) rounded out the top five. Unfortunately for Szoke, his hope of staying with Young didn't pan out on Sun - day after Young got around the holeshotter, Szoke, and never relinquished the lead. After Sunday's win, Young said the weekend was "the best launch of my life." Winkle was third for his first career podium. MacKay was fourth. CN RACE 1 (Top 3) 1. Scott Redding (Duc) 27:45:947 2. Ben Young won both Superbike races at the opening round of the Bridgestone Canadian Superbike Championship at Shannonville Motorsports Park.
