LEGEND LOST
The motorcycle family lost a
legend with the passing of Mert
Lawwill, who won the Grand
National Championship in 1969 and
was perhaps best known for his
role in the movie
On Any Sunday.
After retiring from racing,
Lawwill designed mountain-bike
suspensions and a prosthetic
device that enables amputees to
ride motorcycles and bicycles
again. He was 85.
