Marquez Operation Deemed a Success M arc Marquez is recovering at home in Madrid after undergoing two "successful" surgeries on Sunday, with his return date still unknown. The Catalan had the fifth metatarsal in his right foot stabilized by the same medical team that he trusted with the shoulder surgery at the end of last year after fracturing it in a fall in the Indonesian Sprint race. That same medical team also removed "two screws and a bone fragment" from his right shoulder. The screws had been there since an operation at the close of 2019, which was to stop the joint from dislocating with alarming frequency. This procedure had initially been planned for after this weekend's Catalan GP but was brought forward due to the foot injury. After Marquez's crash in last season's Indonesian GP, the screws had been damaged and were impacting the radial nerve, which in turn was caus - ing the nine-time World Cham- pion great discomfort. As yet, a return at the Italian GP later in the month hasn't been ruled out. "(The doctors) say it should be OK in a short time," Marquez said. "But I don't want to fix a date. For sure, Catalunya I will not race, and then we will understand step by step for Mugello." Neil Morrison WIND IN THE P44 Marc Marquez is at home recovering from yet another massive crash but hasn't set a date for a possible return. Brivio to Leave Trackhouse for HRC D avide Brivio is set to sensationally leave Trackhouse Aprilia at the end of this season to take up a new post in HRC. After spells at Yamaha, Suzuki (Mo- toGP) and Alpine (Formula One), the Italian has presided over Trackhouse Aprilia's rise from 2024 to it being the best satellite team in this year's MotoGP World Championship. As well as witnessing Raul Fernandez's first victory in Australia last year, Ai Ogura scored his maiden MotoGP podium on Sunday. Now the Italian is poised to take a new role as a management consultant for Honda's MotoGP affairs as it enters the new 850cc era. Cycle News understands current team manager Alberto Puig will re - main in a position of power at Honda, even if his role could change to some degree. Cycle News also understands Track- house owner Justin Marks was blindsided by the news. Former KTM team manager Francesco Guidotti has been linked as Brivio's possible replacement. Neil Morrison Davide Brivio looks to be on the move again, this time to Honda in a new management consultant position.
