ago, at which Jeremy McGrath came away with the
250cc-class victory... We ran a featured story titled
"The Golden Years" that focused on motocross
racing in Southern California... We also ran a
story about the possible demise of two-strokes
because of stricter emissions... Steve Hatch won
the Clarksburg GNCC in West Virginia.

Our cover 50 years ago had a shot from the Belgian
Easter Trophy MX that showed Gaston Rahier
leading Roger DeCoster and Harry Everts into
the first turn... We tested some of the hottest
motocross shocks in the business and selected
the Works Performance as our favorite… Heikki
Mikkola won the Belgian 250cc MXGP… Gary
Jones scored an upset win in the 250cc
National MX at Lake Whitney.
