VOLUME ISSUE MAY , P69 BY RYAN NITZEN PHOTOGRAPHY BY OCTOPI MEDIA Y ou couldn't have scripted a better end to the 2026 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship. It all came down to the final race in Salt Lake City with only one point separating Ken Roczen and Hunter Lawrence—a true winner-take-all scenario be - tween the two rivals. Chase Sexton won the race, but it was Roczen who held on for the glory, as his fifth-place result earned him his first-ever Super - cross Championship. In 250SX, Cole Davies ended the season on a high note with a win in the annual Dave Coombs Sr. 250SX East/West Showdown. 450SX Finally, the dream has come true, and Ken Roczen is a Super- cross Champion. After chasing the title for 13 seasons in the 450SX class, the German native sealed the deal and stood atop the podium at the season finale. With everything on the line, Roc - zen struck early in the 450SX main event and passed title rival Hunter Lawrence for the lead in turn two. This move proved deci- sive, as Roczen controlled the race while fans held their breath waiting for a miscue from either rider. A mistake from Lawrence at the halfway mark slashed his championship hopes as he hit the ground and fumbled the bike while remounting. He dropped down to seventh in the running order as Roczen rode away with the championship in hand. The Ken Roczen is finally an AMA 450 Supercross Champion.
