Month
Initiatives
T
he Motorcycle Safety Foun-
dation is offering several
different riding events this May,
which is Motorcycle Safety
Awareness Month. During the
whole month, the MSF is offer-
ing RIDE Day events to encour-
age motorcycle safety and
promote new rider training.
The free events are conducted
by MSF RiderCoaches and will
be held at more than 2000 loca-
tions nationwide.
During the last weekend of
May, an MSF RIDE Day Super
Weekend is planned, with around
40 MSF sites across the country
participating. These special rid
-
ing events will feature massive
national promotion, and par-
ticipants will receive additional
support, as will the MSF sites
or dealers that are hosting the
event.
The MSF has also launched
the DIY Drills, a social media-
based challenge that allows
riders of all levels to download
practice drills to test out their
riding skills on their own. Co-
moto is supporting this effort,
awarding free gear to select
participants.

WIND
IN THE
P34
Joiner doubled up in his home
state, winning both the 85cc
and Youth Premier main events.
Joiner's only misfortune on track
came on the final lap of the G&G
Racing 85cc Dash, where, after
leading the first five laps, Brody
Davis went for a last-lap pass
on Joiner, causing both riders to
run wide and open the door for
Carson Lyons to come through
for the victory.
Jonathan Schaefer and Oliver
Cox found Victory Lane on mul
-
tiple occasions. For Schaefer,
his success came in the Framer
Shootout and the Running of
the Bulls main event. Oliver Cox
delivered commanding rides in
Open Novice and 250 Amateur
action to secure those victories.
After winning the 40+ main
event, Scooter Vernon looked
poised to double up in Chico
as well. Vernon led the first
nine laps of the 30+ main event
before a lapped rider impeded
his path to victory. Kyle Anslemi
took advantage, stealing a win
in the final feet of the run to the
checkered flag.
Of the 20 classes contested at
Silver Dollar Speedway, 14 differ
-
ent riders earned main-event wins.
Those not previously mentioned
include Jada Parker (Women's),
David Sauceda (50cc Air-Cooled),
Bryan Berna (Vintage), Shawn
Raggio (Hooligan), Jeff Mason
(60+) and Eric Green (50+).
The Mission Foods/CTR
Showcase team now makes the
long haul across the country for
a date at Budds Creek in Mary
-
land on Friday, May 15.
