Ragan Tops Road to AFT at
Silver Dollar Speedway
L
ocated in Chico, California, Sil-
ver Dollar Speedway, a crown
jewel for sprint-car fans, traded
four wheels for two wheels over
the May 2-3 weekend.
The track sits seven miles
from Chico Regional Airport.
When the Mission Foods/Cory
Texter Promotions Showcase
made its second stop in the
Golden State in 2026, a "Jett"
landed in Victory Lane multiple
times. Jett Katarzy piloted his
1st Impressions Husqvarna to
victories in the Mission Chal
-
lenge Dash for Cash, the 450
Amateur main event, and the
Open Amateur main event. A
perfect night in his home state
was nearly complete for the
Tracy, California, rider, with one
piece of business remaining.
The Road to AFT main event
began with Illinois racer Braxton
Ragan taking the lead aboard his
Honda, with Katarzy in tow. De
-
spite multiple attempts, Katarzy
was unable to clear Ragan at
the line. On the final lap, both
Katarzy and Ragan turned their
fastest laps of the event. As
the checkered flag flew, Ragan
narrowly edged Katarzy by 0.064
of a second. A walkoff to break
up the shutout, which came
after a brutal crash at the Senoia
Showcase that kept Ragan out
of action for a month earlier this
year.
Cruise Texter wrapped up
a perfect trip west, mirroring
his results from a week ago
in Ventura. Texter piloted his
Cobra 50cc and GasGas 65cc
to victories in the 50cc Chain,
65cc, and Mini Open main
events. Texter also earned top
honors in the night's G&G Racing
65cc Dash. Like Texter, Jack
-
son Joiner matched his results
from the previous Showcase.
