ROUND 3 / APRIL 24-26, 2026 CIRCUITO DE JEREZ - ANGEL NIETO / JEREZ DE LA FRONTERA, SPAIN ROAD RACE I FIM MOTOGP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP P96 Moto3 Four races in to the 22-round season, and it already appears likely one rider will take the Moto3 crown. Maximo Quiles (Aspar KTM) capped a dominant weekend with a late touch of class, as he broke clear of his three pursuers to take a second win of the year and extend his lead out to 37 points. Yet not even Quiles could claim to be the hero of the day. That honor fell to David Munoz (IntactGP KTM), making a return from the horrific leg injury sustained in last year's Indonesian GP. Infection meant the home hero had to undergo a three. Lapping close to half a second faster per lap, Alonso got within a second of Veijer on the final lap. Gaining over three seconds up to the victor in the race's second half was no consolation, as he shed tears of frustration soon after. On this evidence, his time will come. Celestino Vietti (SpeedRS Boscoscuro) was another strong fifth, ahead of Dani Munoz (Italtrans Kalex) and Izan Guevara (Pramac Boscoscuro). Gonzalez (59.5 points) still leads the way, with Agius (50) now second. Guevara (45) and Vietti (43) are still very much in touch. off the line, the Colombian dropped six places to 12th on the first lap. He was then barged off track at turn one when a near coming together between Alex Escrig (Forward Racing) and Dani Holgado (Aspar Kalex) at turn one resulted in the former lifting up the latter, with Alonso so nearly collected. Relegated back to 10th on lap six, 5.3 seconds back of the lead, he got down to business. What followed over the subsequent 15 laps was deeply impressive, as he quickly gained six places and set his sights on the front Senna Agius (81) is emerging as a real title challenger after taking his second Moto2 win in a row.
