ROUND 3 / APRIL 24-26, 2026
CIRCUITO DE JEREZ - ANGEL NIETO / JEREZ DE LA FRONTERA, SPAIN
ROAD RACE I FIM MOTOGP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
P88
By contrast, his brother was left
to ponder another costly fall. A
crash at the scary turn 11 ended
his Sunday challenge as early as
lap two and sapped all energy out
of the contest. More worrying was
that Marc was at a loss to explain
what happened soon after.
That's not to say Marc's
weekend was a total disaster.
"We're focusing on the
positive things, because I was
thinking too much about the
negative points in the first three
races," he said on Friday.
Thanks to a revised engine-
braking strategy, seat-unit aero
and leg wings, he found the
all-important flow from the very
first session.
76 AI OGURA
15TH/5TH MOTOGP
"We can be super, super happy about
the late-race pace," Ogura said. "From
the start until the mid-part of the race,
we struggled quite a lot. I lost so much
time on Bastianini, but, after the feeling
was there, I started to catch the riders in
front of me, but we have to improve the
first part. It seems when everybody has
good tire performance, they can use
this extra advantage, but I'm struggling
with that. I need to understand why,
but, at the same time, it's good in the
second part of the race, when every-
body struggles and I'm not struggling
so much."
36 JOAN MIR
DNF/15TH MOTOGP
"Considering the double long-lap
penalty, the result is about as good
as we could have hoped for," Mir said.
"Our main objective was to finish the
race because the conditions, the grip,
and everything were very critical today.
And with the weather, we didn't have
the perfect package. Not the weekend
or the result we aimed for, but [we
gained] some good information, and at
least we made some good overtakes
during the comeback at the end. Now
[we have] a day of testing with a few
things to work on."
MYOWNRACE
In a drama-filled Sprint race,
Marc Marquez crashed, remounted,
changed bikes, and still won.
