Naran and Parker 400 winner Shane Logan were the first two bikes off the line, and after team - ing up to finish third at this event on a different course last year, Friday looked to be a showdown between the two points leaders. Logan suffered a fuel-pump is- sue on the first lap that knocked his team out of winning conten- tion and dropped him off both the overall and Open Pro podi- ums. With the rest of the Open Pro podium up for grabs, third- and fourth-place qualifiers Gavin Er - ickson and Matthew Grant stood on the class podium for the first time this year. Ironman Pro winner Matthew Combs split the Erickson/Grant battle for third overall, and Open Expert winner Caleb Tate completed the top five overall. This marked Tate's third class win in three races this year and his second overall top five. Combs, meanwhile, became the third different Ironman Pro winner this year and the first to earn an overall podium, finish - ing ahead of Mint 400 winner Patricio Cabrera and Parker 400 winner Remington Mathews. Other class winners included Teddy Miller in 399 Expert, Shandy Kittleson in Quad Pro, and Mark Gerloff in Hooligan Sportsman Motorcycle. Miller is a perfect three for three on the season, while Gerloff is two-for- two after winning the Mint 400, and Kittleson took his first win of the season. CN OVERALL (Top 5) 1.
